NORDIC OIL AND GAS DRILLS SECOND NEW COAL BED METHANE WELL AT JOFFRE

WINNIPEG, MB. (FEBRUARY 2, 2006) - Donald Benson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nordic Oil and Gas Ltd., today announced that the Company and its industry partner have completed drilling the second of three new Coal Bed Methane (CBM) wells on its Joffre property. The second well is located at 14-18-38-24.

“The success rate of drilling for Coal Bed Methane is nearly 100%,” Mr. Benson stated. “Our land in Joffre contains coal seams in the Horseshoe Canyon formation at a depth of approximately 300 - 500 metres. It is thought that the Coal Bed Methane from these seams is capable of producing 100 to 300 thousand cubic feet per day.”

With the completion of these two new CBM wells, Nordic Oil and Gas will have a total of seven wells on production in Joffre.

The drilling of the third CBM well, located at 7-18-38-24 W4, has been delayed due to a pipeline crossing agreement that needs to be finalized. “We hope to have this in place in approximately 30 days, at which time a rig will be deployed back to the site to drill the   7-18-38-24 W4 well, along with two or three wells to be drilled in section 24-38-25 W4,” Mr. Benson added.

Nordic Oil and Gas Ltd. is a junior oil and gas company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange. It trades under the symbol NOG.
