NORDIC OIL AND GAS HIRES COMMUNICATIONS/INVESTOR RELATIONS PROFESSIONAL; UNVEILS NEW LOOK CORPORATE WEBSITE

WINNIPEG, Manitoba - (February 16, 2003) ­ Donald Benson, Chairman and CEO of Nordic Oil and Gas Ltd. (TSXV: NOG), is pleased to announce two significant initiatives in the Company's ongoing efforts to strengthen and enhance its relationship with shareholders, potential investors, the investment community as a whole, its business partners and the communities in which it operates.

Nordic has hired Don Bain as Director of Communications and Investor Relations, to oversee the Company's Investor Relations and Corporate Communications initiatives, and effective today, the Company has launched its newly revamped and upgraded website ­ www.nordicoilandgas.com

Mr. Bain will work toward implementing a strong and proactive Investor Relations and Corporate Communications Program on behalf of Nordic, including developing and maintaining strong relations with the Company's shareholders, the investment community and the business and trade media.

Mr. Bain has many years' experience in Investor Relations, Financial and Corporate Communications. His extensive background includes over 15 years as a Communications and Investor Relations professional, which includes operating his own Investor Relations and Communications firm in Winnipeg, and holding the position of Vice-President, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications at a Toronto-based consulting firm. During his years as an Investor Relations and Communications consultant, Bain has worked with publicly traded and privately-held companies encompassing a variety of industry sectors including, oil and gas, biotech, retail, manufacturing, real estate, high tech and printing. Prior to joining the corporate ranks, he spent several years in the Canadian publishing industry, including Editor of Canadian Petroleum Magazine in Calgary.

Commenting on the appointment Mr. Benson said: "We are delighted to have someone with Don's background and experience join Nordic at a time when the Company is poised to make a significant mark on the Canadian oil and gas industry. He will play an integral role in further developing our major Investor Relations and Communications needs, implementing some key initiatives on our behalf."

Nordic's newly revamped corporate website represents another major step in the Company's efforts to further enhance shareholder communications and augment its position in the oil and gas industry. The new website has been designed to provide the latest and most detailed information about the Company, its current operations and future initiatives, plus other related investor information.

The new website features an easy-to-read style, upgraded graphics and current data on the Company's primary operations. Specific highlights include:

An enhanced section devoted to existing and potential investors, including historical stock information, regulatory filings, and the corporate Fact Sheet;

Easy-to-understand technical information regarding the Company's exploration and development activities;

Detailed information about the Company's latest initiatives in the area of Coal Bed Methane and its new agreement with the Cote First Nation near Kamsack, Saskatchewan.
