Nordic Hires Former Manager of Winnipeg Office of TSX Venture as Chief Financial Officer
WINNIPEG, Manitoba - (January 9, 2008 Donald Benson, President of Nordic Management Ltd. (“the Company” or ”Nordic Management”) pleased to announce that the Company has hired Kevin Strong, CGA, CAE, CIM former Manager of the Winnipeg Office of the TSX Venture Exchange as a consultant, undertaking the duties of Chief Financial Officer of Nordic Oil and Gas Ltd. (“the Corporation” or “Nordic Oil and Gas”) (TSXV: NOG). Nordic Oil and Gas has a Services Agreement with Nordic Management., a company controlled by certain of Nordic Oil and Gas Ltd.’s Directors and officers, for various services
Mr. Strong, who holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Hons) from the University of Manitoba, will be providing a range of financial services, along with regulatory guidance.
Mr. Strong has over 11 years’ experience as a senior regional manager in the finance sector and has held leadership roles in diverse areas, including accounting, information technology, human resources, management, marketing, business development and public relations. From 2000 to 2007, he was the Manager of the Winnipeg Office of the TSXV (formerly the Canadian Venture Exchange) and prior to this, he was Manager, Marketing and Operations at the Winnipeg Stock Exchange.
Commenting on the appointment Mr. Benson said: "We are delighted to have someone with Kevin’s background and experience join Nordic at a time when the Company is poised to make a significant mark on the Canadian oil and gas industry. He will play an integral role in strengthening our financial reporting practices and will be a valuable member of our team in developing new contacts within the investment community."
Nordic Oil and Gas is set to embark on several new initiatives in 2008, including its drilling program in Preeceville, SK, and the development of its lands in Lloydminster and the Peace River Arch area of Alberta. “Mr. Strong’s arrival comes at a very opportune time for the Corporation,” Mr. Benson noted, “as we continue to make it a priority to build and maintain strong personal and professional relationships with the Company's shareholders and the investment community.”
