NORDIC OIL AND GAS,TRIDENT COMPLETE DRILLING AND CASING OF COAL BED METHANE WELL AT JOFFRE

WINNIPEG ­ May 24, 2005. Donald Benson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nordic Oil and Gas Ltd., announced today that the Coal Bed Methane (CBM) well in Joffre on section 5-20-38-24 W4 has been drilled and cased by Trident Exploration Corp. of Calgary. The well will receive a nitrogen frac and will be perforated in the next few weeks.

This follows the Company's announcement last February that Nordic and Trident had reached an agreement to pool each company's interests in this section for all formations from the surface to the base of the Edmonton Group and that the two companies would drill a CBM well on the property this Spring.

This agreement came following Nordic's successful initial test for CBM in November 2004, which included coring and canister testing to prove the gas content and the potential amount that is recoverable. The Horseshow Canyon area has been identified as a strong candidate for Coal Bed Methane production some years ago, "and we are excited about the prospects that this holds for the Company," Mr. Benson stated.

"The completion of the drilling of this well will add to our proven and probable reserves on our Joffre land, and clearly raises the overall value of the property as well, "he added.

Nordic has an interest in 11 sections of land on its Joffre property, which contain coal seams in the Horseshoe Canyon formation at a depth of approximately 500 metres. It is thought that the Coal Bed Methane from these seams is capable of producing 200 to 300 thousand cubic feet per day (MCFD).

"As we have stated in the past, we are extremely pleased to be working with Trident Exploration, one of Canada's largest Coal Bed Methane Producers, on this exciting project," noted Mr. Benson.
