Operations
Nordic Oil and Gas operations are focused in central Alberta, one of Canada's primary areas for oil and gas exploration, and in east-central Saskatchewan. Alberta accounts for just over 80 per cent of the natural gas produced in Canada - itself the world's third-largest supplier of the gas - and exports about three-quarters of its production outside the province's boundaries.
The Nordic Oil and Gas Ltd. assets consist of 4,480 gross acres of Petroleum and Natural Gas (P & NG) leases in Joffre, Alberta, where it currently produces approximately 81 BOE/D from five natural gas wells, and one CBM well. The Company also has a 42.5% interest in three Coal Bed Methane wells in Joffre, which are currently awaiting tie-in, plus another Belly River well.
In addition to its Joffre property, Nordic also has two new five-year P & NG leases over 6,720 gross acres at Preeceville, Saskatchewan. The remaining two permits cover another 101,670 gross acres, also at Preeceville, in the east-central area of Saskatchewan.
Furthermore, in 2007, Nordic acquired approximately 8,000 acres of land in the Lloydminster and Peace River Arch areas of Alberta.
Nordic Oil and Gas maintains operatorship control with high working interests in both regions, through its "sister" companies, Western Warner Oils Ltd. and Desoto Resources Limited.
